Hemfrid is one of the largest home services companies in Sweden. Their original mobile product was a single app for both customers and employees - a setup that made routine maintenance harder than it needed to be and confused customers whenever an employee-side update went out.
We rebuilt the employee side as a standalone app, and are continuing to develop the customer app as part of the same long-term engagement.

The challenge
A single codebase for two completely different user types meant every employee-side fix required a simultaneous release for customers - asking all users to update an app where nothing had changed for them. The architecture was the problem. The fix was separation.

The solution
We split the product into two independent apps, following the model used by Uber, Bolt, and Booksy. Each now has its own codebase, release cycle, and identity. Updates to the employee app don't touch the customer app. The employee app is built in React Native with React Native Reanimated for smooth in-app transitions, used daily by thousands of cleaners across Sweden.

Main features
Login - Via SMS or BankID, Sweden's national digital identity system.
Calendar - Weekly and monthly views. All daily services tracked with full detail.
Service briefing - Before each appointment: time, duration, address, navigation, entry codes, and customer rating.
Language support - Service instructions translated dynamically into five languages.
Post-service submission - Completed services confirmed, damage reported, supplies requested.
Profile - Salary history, language preferences, links to Hemfrid Academy and the Employee Handbook.
