The project

Eatzon is a food ordering and restaurant booking app built around one idea: your preferences should drive every part of the experience. Allergies, diets, ingredients, group requirements - the platform surfaces the right options without the user having to filter manually.

We were brought in to migrate their existing web platform to a app store mobile app in under 4 weeks - a tight deadline to hit the App Store. The migration shipped on schedule. Subsequent development phases extended the platform with the features below.

Extending the platform

The initial 4-week engagement got the existing platform onto the App Store. Once that shipped, we continued building - expanding the product with new features across subsequent development phases.

  • Group orders: This feature enables easy management of groups and searching for offers that meet the preferences of group members. Users can efficiently organize group orders, tailoring offers to specific requirements and preferences of each group participant.
  • Address management: Users can now easily manage multiple delivery addresses. They can store, view, and update delivery addresses for various orders without re-entering data, enhancing convenience and speed in order fulfilment.
  • Invoice company selection: Users can choose the appropriate company when generating invoices, making the invoicing process more flexible and tailored to different company needs, simplifying financial documentation management.
  • QR code: This feature significantly streamlines the ordering process. Users can now show their unique QR code to a waiter for quick order pickup. It is especially useful during festivals and other large events, allowing users to place and pick up orders without waiting in line. This solution makes the ordering process faster and more efficient.

  • Serving time selection: Users can easily and intuitively specify their preferred serving time. This helps users plan their meals better, while restaurants can manage order fulfilment more efficiently, leading to higher customer satisfaction.
  • Payment allocation and settlement: This feature allows users to manage finances in groups easily. Costs can be allocated to individual group members, and payments can be monitored and settled, increasing financial transparency and efficiency.
  • New order flow: The new order flow significantly improves the user experience and interface for customers, restaurateurs, and waitstaff. Customers can place orders easily, restaurateurs can manage orders efficiently, and waitstaff can serve guests effectively. This functionality ensures a smoother ordering process and better communication at every service stage, enhancing overall satisfaction for all system users.
  • Administrator panel enhancements: New features in the admin panel significantly improve system management. Administrators can now easily monitor, manage, and adjust platform settings and operations, ensuring better control and efficiency in user service.
  • AI recommendations: An LLM analyses each user's taste profile and order history to suggest dishes and restaurants matched to their preferences.

Future-proof solutions

Phase 1 was a 4-week migration to get the existing platform onto the App Store - on a hard deadline. Phase 2 and beyond extended it with the features above, built in order of priority. Scoped, sequenced, and delivered.
